Cassava Technologies Launches Africa’s First NVIDIA-Powered Autonomous Network to Transform Telecom Performance

Cassava Technologies has officially launched Cassava Autonomous Network, the first African-ready autonomous network designed to self-optimise mobile Radio Access Networks (RAN). Powered by NVIDIA AI infrastructure, the solution marks a significant step toward intelligent, self-healing networks across the continent. Unlike conventional networks that rely on manual intervention, Cassava Autonomous Network uses policy-driven automation to continuously optimise performance. Telecom operators can now replace repetitive manual adjustments with AI-led intelligence, reducing operational bottlenecks by up to 75% and cutting repair times for minor faults from four days to just 35 minutes. The system runs on CAIMEx, a localised multi-model AI platform that provides unified access to leading AI models through regional AI factories, ensuring flexibility and local relevance for Africa’s complex connectivity landscape.

African telecom operators face increasingly dense and complex networks while operating under tight resource constraints. With 4G still dominant and 5G adoption steadily increasing, daily optimisation has become a major challenge. Cassava Autonomous Network addresses this by supporting 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G networks, including legacy, hybrid, and cloud-native deployments. It works across multi-vendor environments, allowing operators to protect existing RAN investments while introducing advanced agentic AI capabilities. Ahmed El Beheiry, Group COO and Group Chief Technology & AI Officer at Cassava Technologies, said, “Cassava Autonomous Network combines NVIDIA’s AI infrastructure with Africa’s unique network needs and our deep telco expertise. With this solution, we are accelerating the transition toward intelligent, autonomous networks that improve coverage, quality, profitability, and customer experience.”

The solution leverages NVIDIA AI infrastructure, NVIDIA NIM microservices, and NVIDIA Network Configuration Blueprint to enable autonomous network operations. Networks can now automatically detect, diagnose, and correct inefficiencies, enhancing scalability and strengthening predictive maintenance to prevent downtime. This development empowers operators to deliver faster speeds, improved reliability, and better customer experiences.

Headquartered in the UK, Cassava Technologies operates across Africa, the Middle East, Latin America, and the United States. Through its business units including Cassava AI, Liquid Intelligent Technologies, Liquid C2, Africa Data Centres, and Sasai Fintech, the company provides services in 94 countries. The launch of Cassava Autonomous Network reinforces the company’s commitment to empowering African businesses with digital solutions. It aligns with Africa’s growing need for AI-powered telecom automation, improved 5G rollout efficiency, and sustainable infrastructure growth. The autonomous network bridges the gap between operational efficiency and customer expectations by delivering AI-powered RAN optimisation, 75% efficiency improvement, 35-minute fault resolution, multi-vendor compatibility, and cross-generation network support, making it a game-changer for Africa’s telecom sector.
