Flutterwave Promotes 100+ Employees, Launches Global Relief Package

Africa’s leading payments technology company, Flutterwave, has promoted more than 100 employees across its global workforce while introducing a comprehensive cost-of-living support package designed to help staff navigate mounting economic pressures.

The move represents one of the largest employee advancement exercises in the company’s history, covering approximately 25 percent of its workforce. 

Alongside the promotions, Flutterwave announced cost-of-living adjustments, tax support measures for Nigerian employees, and a one-time economic relief payment for staff members worldwide.

The initiative highlights Flutterwave’s growing focus on talent retention, employee well-being, and long-term workforce development as competition for skilled technology professionals intensifies across Africa and global markets.

According to the company, the decision reflects its commitment to building a people-first culture while strengthening the foundation that has helped position Flutterwave among Africa’s most valuable fintech companies.

Speaking on the announcement, Flutterwave Founder and CEO, Olugbenga Agboola, said the company’s greatest competitive advantage remains its workforce.

“The real edge we have is our people. They are the ultimate engine behind everything we build, giving us the capacity to create solutions that power businesses, unlock opportunities, and move money seamlessly across Africa and beyond,” Agboola said.

Beyond career advancement opportunities, Flutterwave is also responding directly to rising living costs affecting workers across multiple countries. 

Consequently, the company introduced a one-time economic relief payment for all employees globally.

In Nigeria, where regulatory and tax changes have affected disposable income for many workers, Flutterwave added tax adjustment support and updated cost-of-living benefits to help employees maintain financial stability.

The company’s leadership believes employee support extends beyond compensation.

Since its launch, the fintech giant has processed more than one billion transactions and facilitated over $40 billion in total payment value globally. 

Those milestones reinforce Flutterwave’s position as one of Africa’s most influential financial technology companies.

Recent operational figures also point to accelerating momentum. Wallet-based collections surged by 289 percent by transaction count over the past year, while bank transfer value increased by 184 percent. 

The growth reflects rising consumer adoption of local payment methods and the continued expansion of digital commerce across African markets.
