Air Tanzania Launches Direct Dar es Salaam–Lagos Flights

Air Tanzania has announced it will launch a new direct flight route from Dar es Salaam to Lagos starting August 15, 2025, a move warmly unveiled by Nigerian influencer Priscilla Ojo and Tanzanian musician Juma Jux.

The couple, who recently made headlines with their cross-country wedding, revealed the upcoming service through a viral video where they appeared dressed as pilot and co-pilot. For them, the new flight isn’t merely about shorter travel times, it’s a heartfelt symbol of bridging cultures and uniting two nations through love, business, and creativity.

Flights on the Dar es Salaam–Lagos route are expected to take approximately four hours, providing travelers with a faster and more direct connection between East and West Africa. In their announcement, the couple reflected on how the idea emerged from the logistical challenges they faced planning their wedding across both countries, a shared experience that highlighted the need for stronger regional links.

“Since our wedding, Tanzania and Nigeria have only grown closer,” they shared. “Now, this direct connection makes it even easier for love, culture, and commerce to flourish.”

Air Tanzania, known as The Wings of Kilimanjaro, is positioning the new route as more than just a business expansion: it’s part of a broader effort to deepen people-to-people ties across the continent.

Tickets are now available for booking, with the first flight set to take off this August, promising passengers a seamless journey between two of Africa’s vibrant cultural and economic hubs.
