Damilola Bolarinde has claimed the spotlight after winning the Face of Hope 2026 pageant, securing the prestigious Miss International Nigeria 2026 title at a grand finale held on April 19, 2026, in Lagos. The highly anticipated event drew contestants from across Nigeria, all competing for the coveted crown at the iconic Eko Convention Center.
Bolarinde, who represented Lagos State, stood out throughout the competition. She impressed judges with her poise, confidence, and strong stage presence. As a result, she edged out Miss Anambra, who finished as first runner-up, and Miss Rivers, who secured the second runner-up position.
Her victory now places her on the global stage. She will represent Nigeria at the Miss International 2026 competition scheduled to take place in Japan later this year. Notably, the reigning Miss International 2025, Catalina Duque of Colombia, crowned her during the ceremony, adding international prestige to the moment.
Earlier in the competition, Bolarinde showed consistency and discipline. She won the Day 1 Punctuality Award and received a ₦100,000 cash prize. In addition, public votes pushed her into the top finalists, reflecting strong support from fans across the country.
The win comes with significant rewards. She received a luxury Mercedes-Benz GLE 350, a ₦10 million cash prize, and a professional modelling contract. Furthermore, she will undergo advanced training in catwalk and etiquette. These opportunities will boost her visibility while opening doors to endorsements and international exposure.
Bolarinde is no stranger to pageantry. She previously held the Miss Grand Nigeria 2022 title and finished as first runner-up at Miss Universe Nigeria 2025. Beyond beauty contests, she drives impact through her initiative, “The Unconventional Quest,” which encourages young Nigerians to explore alternative career paths.
In addition, she continues to expand her presence in entertainment. She appeared as Lami in the Prime Video movie Ms. Kayin, where she delivered a compelling performance. Through her project, Purposeful Mind, she promotes independence and self-awareness among Nigerian youth.
Her cultural presentation at the finale captured attention nationwide. Inspired by the iconic Eyo Festival of Lagos, her “Eyo Festival Goddess” costume reimagined tradition through a modern feminine lens. The white ensemble symbolized purity, while coral beads reflected royalty. The design also incorporated elements like a canoe and beaded lines, representing Lagos heritage and continuity between past and future.
The Face of Hope pageant, themed “Her Flow Her Power,” continues to grow as a leading empowerment platform in Nigeria. Organisers emphasize discipline, skill development, and global exposure. Consequently, the platform shapes young women into influential voices both locally and internationally.
As anticipation builds toward Miss International 2026, attention now turns to how Bolarinde will represent Nigeria on the global stage. With her experience, advocacy, and cultural storytelling, she enters the competition as a strong contender.
