Tanzanian Bongo Flava sensation Zuchu has unveiled a major music and creative industry initiative designed to equip young artistes with the business knowledge needed to succeed in Africa’s fast-growing entertainment economy.

The programme, officially named the Zuchu-Imbeju Masterclass 2026, will run in partnership with CRDB Bank through the CRDB Bank Foundation. The training platform aims to nurture singers, DJs, producers, managers, dancers, promoters, and behind-the-scenes creatives across Tanzania.
Speaking during the launch event in Dar es Salaam on May 19, 2026, Zuchu explained that many talented young Africans fail to monetize their gifts because they lack financial education, business structure, and industry mentorship.
According to the award-winning artiste, music can transform lives when creatives learn how to manage fame, money, branding, and long-term business growth.
Zuchu reflected on the explosive success of her breakout hit song “Sukari,” revealing that the track changed her financial life within a short period. She said the first three years of her music career brought massive earnings from performances and digital streaming platforms.
The singer also disclosed that she earned five million Tanzanian shillings from one of her earliest performances despite having only one major song at the time. Shortly after, she received additional income from YouTube royalties worth 3,000 euros.
The “Honey” hitmaker stressed that upcoming artistes need guidance before fame arrives. As a result, the masterclass will focus heavily on financial literacy, entrepreneurship, digital monetization, brand management, and entertainment business strategy.
Furthermore, the programme seeks to bridge the gap between creativity and sustainable income for young African talents.
Organisers confirmed that the training sessions will hold at the CRDB headquarters in Dar es Salaam between June 12 and June 16, 2026. Interested participants can register through selected CRDB branches nationwide for a fee of Tsh500,000.
The initiative has already generated excitement across Tanzania’s entertainment industry because it brings together key stakeholders including BASATA, music executives, entertainment experts, media platforms, and government institutions supporting the country’s growing creative economy.
Through the partnership, young creatives will receive mentorship from industry professionals while gaining access to financial services and entrepreneurship opportunities that could help transform talent into sustainable businesses.

CRDB Bank Foundation described the platform as part of a broader effort to expand economic opportunities for young Africans through innovation, education, and creativity.
Meanwhile, Zuchu said the programme will expose participants to real-life lessons from her own journey in the music industry, including the mistakes young artistes should avoid, how to prepare for sudden popularity, and how to protect and manage income after achieving success.
The launch of the Zuchu-Imbeju Masterclass highlights the rising influence of Africa’s creative economy as music stars increasingly invest in youth empowerment, entertainment education, and digital entrepreneurship.
With streaming platforms, social media monetization, and African music exports growing globally, initiatives like this continue to position Tanzania as one of East Africa’s emerging entertainment powerhouses.
