Asna Unveils Djeka, A Bold African Electronic Anthem

Electronic music artist and DJ Asna is pushing African electronic music into bold new territory with the release of the official music video for Djeka, a visually striking project that blends traditional African identity with modern rave culture.

Premiering on July 21, 2026, Djeka is more than a music release. It is a creative statement about cultural pride, artistic independence, and the future of African electronic music on the global stage.

Entirely self produced and creatively led by Asna, the project showcases an artist taking full ownership of her vision. The music video was directed by Marcel Sangne, while Asna oversaw the creative direction, reinforcing her commitment to building authentic African stories through electronic sound.

Describing the inspiration behind the track, Asna said:

“Djeka is independence. It’s resistance. It’s rave energy through an African lens.”

For the Ivorian artist, the release represents years of artistic intention rather than a single musical project.

“Since I started in electronic music I always had a clear vision of what I wanted to do with it. Shine a spotlight on my country, my community and my continent while exploring electronic music through my Ivorian and African roots.”

That philosophy is reflected throughout the visual production, where energetic choreography, bold styling and cultural symbolism meet contemporary electronic music aesthetics.

At a time when African genres such as Afrobeats and Amapiano continue to dominate global playlists, Asna is contributing to another growing movement by demonstrating how electronic music can also become a powerful vehicle for African storytelling and cultural expression.

The production also highlights the growing influence of independent African creatives who are increasingly producing world class visual content without relying on traditional industry structures.

The official video features performances from Sandra Gueye, Redemption 60, and Baal Blood, adding depth to the visual narrative while celebrating creative collaboration across Africa’s artistic community.

As global audiences continue searching for new sounds from the continent, Djeka positions Asna among a new generation of African electronic artists reshaping the genre through originality, cultural authenticity, and creative independence.

For entrepreneurs and creative industry leaders, the project also illustrates a broader trend across Africa’s creative economy. Artists are increasingly becoming producers, directors, and brand builders, creating intellectual property that extends beyond music into culture, fashion, and global influence.
