Bad Bunny has reached a milestone that few artists in music history can claim. The Puerto Rican superstar has officially become the first Latin artist to generate more than $1 billion in career touring revenue, cementing his place among the most successful live performers the entertainment industry has ever seen.
The achievement comes as his blockbuster Debí Tirar Más Fotos World Tour continues its dominant run across major stadiums in South America, Australia, Japan, and Europe. Remarkably, the tour has accomplished its historic success without a single concert date in the United States, a market traditionally viewed as essential for blockbuster global tours.
According to reported figures from Billboard Boxscore, the Debí Tirar Más Fotos World Tour has already generated $360 million in revenue and sold 2.4 million tickets across its first 41 performances. Those numbers make it the highest-grossing and best-selling tour in Boxscore history that has not included any U.S. dates.
The record highlights the growing influence of global music audiences and the rising commercial power of non-English-language artists. While international superstars have occasionally skipped the American market, none have delivered a touring success story on this scale.
Bad Bunny surpassed previous benchmarks held by British pop group Take That. Their 2011 Progress Live tour generated $185.2 million and sold 1.8 million tickets. Meanwhile, The Rolling Stones’ 14 On Fire tour earned $165.2 million and sold more than 863,000 tickets across Europe, Asia, and Oceania. By comparison, Bad Bunny nearly doubled the revenue generated by those historic tours.
His momentum accelerated significantly during a three-night run at Buenos Aires’ Estadio River Plate in February. Since then, packed stadium shows in São Paulo, Sydney, Barcelona, Lisbon, and Madrid have widened the gap between his tour and previous record holders.
Attendance records have also fallen. A 10-show residency at Madrid’s Riyadh Air Metropolitano attracted approximately 623,000 fans, pushing overall tour attendance beyond 2.36 million. That figure officially surpassed Take That’s previous record of 1.81 million tickets sold for a non-U.S. tour.
The European leg alone has become a landmark achievement. Madrid concerts generated an impressive $96.1 million, while performances in Barcelona and Lisbon helped push European grosses to $129.6 million from more than 861,000 tickets sold. Even with only part of the European schedule reported, the tour has already become the highest-grossing European concert run ever staged by a Latin artist.
Beyond the current tour, the milestone reflects years of sustained dominance. The Debí Tirar Más Fotos World Tour has now overtaken 2022’s World’s Hottest Tour as the biggest trek of Bad Bunny’s career. That earlier stadium run generated $314.1 million and attracted 1.9 million fans across the United States and Latin America.
Combined with earnings from Most Wanted Tour, El Último Tour Del Mundo, and performances dating back to 2017, Bad Bunny’s reported touring totals now stand at approximately $1.08 billion from 260 shows, with more than 6.4 million tickets sold worldwide.
Only a small group of artists have crossed the $1 billion touring threshold during Billboard Boxscore’s four-decade history. However, Bad Bunny’s accomplishment stands apart. He is not only the first Latin artist to achieve the feat but also the first performer who primarily records and performs in a language other than English.
The milestone adds another chapter to a career defined by breaking barriers. In 2020, El Último Tour Del Mundo became the first all-Spanish-language album to reach No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. Two years later, he became the first non-English-language artist to top Billboard’s year-end Top Artists ranking and lead the publication’s annual Top Tours chart.
With another 15 European dates still awaiting reporting before the tour concludes in Brussels on July 22, industry analysts expect the final gross to approach or exceed $450 million. If projections hold, the Debí Tirar Más Fotos World Tour will rank among the most successful global concert tours ever staged.
More importantly, it signals a shift in the music business. Bad Bunny has proven that global audiences, streaming power, and cultural influence can drive record-breaking touring success without relying on English-language music or traditional U.S.-centric strategies. As the live entertainment industry continues to evolve, his historic achievement may serve as a blueprint for the next generation of international superstars.
